For auction is a nice hardback edition of The Droll Stories of Honore de Balzac Illustrated. With new illustrations specially made for this edition by Steele Savage.
Covers show some wear but all printing and offset drawings are clear. Spine is tight and no loose or missing pages. No writing, no marks, no underline , no nothing , is clean. CR page simply states " copyright , 1932 by Blue Ribbon Books, Inc. " and " Printed in the USA by the Cornwall Press, Inc. Contents is 3 sets of 10 tales. Each set has a prologue and a epilogue. Has a 3 page Preface by the Translator which tells of the history of the "Droll" books. Inside covers has a full picture of couples in a romantic stance in two adjoining arch ways. 553 pgs. Wt. is 1 lb 11oz.
